Privacy policy
Draft for review. This plain-language draft describes how InningOps works today. It must be reviewed by someone qualified before InningOps is offered publicly, and the effective date set then.
Effective date: [to be set at launch]
Who we are
InningOps is software that baseball and softball organizations use to run tournaments. In this policy, "we" means InningOps and "organizations" means the leagues and clubs that run tournaments with it. Questions: support@inningops.com.
What we collect
- Staff accounts (Admins, Tournament Directors, Scorekeepers): your email address, first and last name, and optionally a phone number. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito; we never see or store your password.
- Team registrations: a team's name and age group, and the coach's name, phone number and email address.
- Tournament information entered by organizations: schedules, fields and locations, team names, scores, standings, brackets, notes and logos.
- Activity records: which account made changes such as score corrections, so organizations can see who changed what. We also keep standard security logs, which can include IP addresses.
We don't collect players' names or other information about players. Please don't enter personal information about players, especially minors, into team names or notes.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign-in, tournaments, scoring and the public pages.
- To send emails the service needs, such as registration confirmations to coaches and notices to an organization's Admins and Tournament Directors.
- To keep InningOps secure and to fix problems.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Public tournament pages show only what an organization publishes: team names, schedules, scores, standings, brackets, notes and the organization's logo and links. Coach contact details are never public.
- Coach contact details are visible only to the organization's Admins and Tournament Directors.
- Staff names and phone numbers are visible to the Admins of organizations you belong to.
- Service providers who host and run InningOps for us, such as Amazon Web Services (hosting, sign-in and email), and only to provide the service.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect your account. The public pages remember your light or dark choice in your own browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep information while an organization uses InningOps. Organizations can archive tournaments, and can ask us to delete their information. Activity records are kept so changes stay accountable. [Retention periods to be confirmed at launch.]
Your choices
- Staff can update their name and phone number in their profile.
- Coaches can ask the organization running the tournament, or us, to correct or delete their registration details.
- Anyone can ask us what we hold about them, or ask us to delete it, at support@inningops.com.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited by role, and changes are logged.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date, and tell organizations about significant changes.
